Sunday, December 14, 2008, St. Peter's Basilica, 3:00pm (map)
This is one of London’s favourite Christmas traditions. The Fagan Singers bring a personal interpretation to one of the great masterpieces.
Why is Handel’s Messiah so much loved by generations of audiences? Is it the vibrant choruses? Yes! Is it the poignant solos? Yes! Is it the amazing orchestrations? Of course!
Above all though, is the story told in the incomparable fashion of the genius that was George Frederic Handel.
Now – add to all of this is the humbling atmosphere of St. Peter’s Basilica and you have the formula for a monumental event.
