The Armed Man - Karl Jenkins

Sunday, September 11th, 3:00 pm, Centennial Hall (map)

Fanshawe Chorus London, the Gerald Fagan Singers and the Concert Players Orchestra commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11 with a performance of Karl Jenkins' hauntingly beautiful The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace, dedicated to those who lost their lives on that day.

This is the second time in as many years that we have performed Karl Jenkins’ work, and as in the first performance, representatives from the Muslim, Sikh and Jewish faiths will participate. The response for that first performance was overwhelming.

In the words of Maestro Gerald Fagan, "This work is absolutely appropriate for the day. It is our hope that all who attend this commemorative concert will be moved and inspired by Jenkins' music."

The Exeter Community Choir will join the Chorus, the Singers and Orchestra for this performance. It is very fitting that we mark this anniversary date in such a way.

Along with many other choirs from around the world, we are part of Global Sing for Peace.
